SOS are a group of parents who work together to raise money for the children of Oughtibridge Primary School. This year we aim to raise £8,000 for resources and activities that are not government funded. We make fundraising fun and each year we warmly welcome new members (who become new friends) into the committee group.
We’re always grateful for any time that can be spared. We usually meet informally in the pub once a half-term but you don’t need to attend to be involved.
Since January SOS have been working behind the scenes to progress our plans to create an outdoor learning space for our children. We applied to and have been successful in being accepted, to be part of the AVIVA Community Fund programme.
The AVIVA Community Fund is a crowdfunding programme, which encourages projects to establish a crowdfunding page which is then promoted to AVIVA employees, who then have the responsibility for distribute the £25,000 community fund to causes that resonate with them. As you can imagine, there are many wonderful causes in the programme. To standout to the AVIVA community those projects which are activity receiving donations, from lots of supporters are moved towards the top of the list of projects.
